Course Description:
This course integrates the essential skills of academic reading and writing to develop students’ overall proficiency in English for academic and professional purposes. It focuses on improving reading comprehension, critical analysis, and the ability to produce coherent, well-organized written texts. Students will learn to read academic materials strategically, identify key ideas and arguments, and respond through analytical and argumentative writing. Emphasis is placed on paragraph development, essay organization, summarizing, paraphrasing, and referencing skills. Through a variety of reading and writing tasks, students will enhance their critical thinking, expand their academic vocabulary, and learn to express ideas effectively in written form.
